Dear Data, created by information designers, Giorgia Lupi & Stefanie Posavec, documents their lives for a year through a "slow data" transmission.
Whilst living on either side of the Atlantic Giorgia and Stefanie both collected and measured a particular type of data relating to their lives every week, visualising the results on the back of postcards, which they sent to each other. “Every week for a year we collected personal data around a shared topic, in order to investigate and reveal aspects of ourselves and our days to share with the other person. As we gathered our weekly data, the process was more labour-intensive than just deriving standard metrics from technological devices.”
